Nepal reports 523 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,293 and the number of active cases stands at 11,874.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 523 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 805,560.
Similarly, 68 people tested positive in a total of 2,043 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,328,478 PCR and 633,303 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,654 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported nine Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,874. The number of active cases stands at 11,874.
According to the ministry, 782,393 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 937 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 274 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 203 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 41 in Lalitpur and 30 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 58 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 14 in Province 2, 316 in Bagmati, 67 in Gandaki, 50 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 15 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 17 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 280 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 99-31 in Province 1, 53 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, two in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
