Nepal reports 673 new Covid-19 cases, 13 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,361 and the number of active cases stands at 10,360.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 673 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 809,729.
Similarly, 103 people tested positive in a total of 2,580 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,376,796 PCR and 646,672 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,284 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 13 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,361. The number of active cases stands at 10,360.
According to the ministry, 788,008 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 501 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 227 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 185 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 33 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 160 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 331 in Bagmati, 105 in Gandaki, 48 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and 15 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 10 other districts host more than 200 active cases each and one district—Mugu—has active zero cases.
On Monday, 254 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 74-24 in Province 1, 45 in Bagmati, four in Lumbini and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 522 new coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly, 438 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were recorded on Saturday and 574 new cases and 11 Covid-19 related deaths were reported on Friday.
