Nepal reports 527 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,382 and the number of active cases stands at 10,236.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 527 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 811,407.
Similarly, 64 people tested positive in a total of 2,507 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,402,582 PCR and 653,756 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,848 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,382. The number of active cases stands at 10,236.
According to the ministry, 789,789 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 664 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 199 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 157 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 30 in Lalitpur and 12 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 79 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 267 in Bagmati, 68 in Gandaki, 49 in Lumbini, five in Karnali and 47 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, four districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 10 other districts host more than 200 active cases each and one district—Mugu—has active zero cases.
On Thursday, 248 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 81-18 in Province 1, 53 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, six in Lumbini and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 582 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths. Similarly, 569 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were recorded on Tuesday and 673 new coronavirus cases and 13 deaths were reported on Monday.
