With 1,509 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 635,188

Nepal on Monday reported 1,509 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 635,188.
Similarly, 935 people tested positive in a total of 4,992 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 3,329,687 PCR and 179,941 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,648 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 42 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 9,051. The number of active cases stands at 37,950.
According to the ministry, 588,187 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 3,853 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 514 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 355 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 112 in Lalitpur and 47 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 437 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 59 in Province 2, 767 in Bagmati, 169 in Gandaki, 46 in Lumbini, 25 in Karnali and 12 Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 23 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 28 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 657 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 193—36 in Province 1, one in Province 2, 129 in Bagmati, 13 in Gandaki, nine in Lumbini, two in Karnali, and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 1,353 new cases and 34 new deaths. Similarly, 1,174 new cases and 30 Covid-19-related deaths were recorded on Saturday and 1,721 new coronavirus cases and 27 deaths were reported on Friday.
