Nepal reports two more Covid-19-related deaths and 641 new infections
One person each from Parsa and Morang districts succumbed to the disease, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported two more Covid-19-related deaths, taking the toll t0 104. The total number of cases, meanwhile, reached 26,660 after the confirmation of 641 new infections in different parts of the country.
The Health Ministry said a man from Parsa district and a woman from Morang district succumbed to the disease.
According to the ministry, 45 individuals from Province 2, 18 from Bagmati Province, 13 from Province 5, 10 from Province 1, eight from Sudurpaschim Province, six from Gandaki Province and four from Karnali have died from Covid-19-related conditions so far.
A total of 12,247 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were performed in the past 24 hours. So far, 517,907 PCR tests have been performed in the country.
Samples of 126 individuals in Kathmandu, 100 in Morang, 69 in Bara, 64 in Parsa, 58 in Rupandehi, 38 in Lalitpur, 37 in Dhanusha, 27 in Chitwan, 14 in Rautahat, 11 each in Saptari, Kaski and Kailali; 10 in Banke, and eight each in Bhaktapur, Nawalparasi (West) and Mahottari tested positive for the coronavirus.
Test results of five samples each from Tanahun and Kanchanpur; three each from Bardiya, Siraha and Dang; two each from Sunsari, Kapilvastu, Sarlahi, Nawalparasi (East) and Rolpa and one each from Dang, Nuwakot, Sindhuli, Jumla, Rukum (West), Ilam, Makwanpur, Baglung, Parbat, Jhapa, Lamjung and Taplejung were also positive.
Nepal had reported 468 new infections and three Covid-19 related deaths on Saturday. The country recorded four deaths and 594 new infections on Friday. On Thursday, there were four deaths and 525 new cases, compared to eight deaths and 484 new cases on Wednesday. Tuesday saw four deaths and 638 new cases while on Monday there were two deaths and 380 new cases.
So far, 17,335 individuals have made successful recoveries after being diagnosed with Covid-19. According to the ministry, 134 people were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours.
Five districts—Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa and Humla—don’t have any active cases, according to the ministry.
