The series is scheduled to take from April 27 to May 4.Post Report
The Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Monday announced a T20 ‘A’ team Nepal tour.
Issuing a press release, the CWI and the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) said that West Indies-A and Nepal would compete in a five-match T20 series at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu.
“This historic series will be the first time a West Indies team has toured Nepal,” reads the statement.
The series is scheduled to take from April 27 to May 4.
The only time West Indies have played Nepal in International cricket was a One Day International at the Harare Sports Club, during the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in 2023, with the West Indies winning by 101 runs.
Both nations are preparing for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the United States and West Indies in June. The tour is a part of their respective World Cup preparations.
The Co-Hosts are in Group C in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and will face Papua New Guinea, Uganda, New Zealand, and Afghanistan, whilst Nepal is in Group D and will face the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
On Sunday, The Ireland Wolves wrapped up their Nepal tour with a third OD. They defeated the hosts by 69 runs in their final one-day match, sealing a clean sweep in the three-match series at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
The visitors also played a three-match T20 series against Nepal’s second-string side from March 29 to April 1, which they won 2-1. Before that, the Wolves had played a two-match T20 series against Nepal’s senior men’s cricket.
