Nepal restrict Scotland to 212 runs

Sandeep Lamichhane chipped in with four wickets as Nepal restricted Scotland to 212 runs in the ongoing Triangular Series of the ICC Men’s World Cup League 2 held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday.
Put to bat first after losing the toss, the visitors made a good start. Nepal was able to break the partnership after opener Kyle Coetzer fell on an lbw trap of Lamichhane, hitting 22 runs off 23 balls.
However, another opener George Munsey held the innings for Scotland, top-scoring at 60 runs followed by Matthew Cross (42 runs) before he was run out by Dipendra Singh Airee at 34.3 overs. Brandon McMullen and Christopher McBride contributed 31 and 22 runs respectively.
The visitors lost all wickets in 46.1 overs.
Lamichhane finished his 10-over bowling spell with the wickets of Kyle Coetzer, Richie Berrington and Tomas Mackintosh, giving away 45 runs.
Nepal’s Karan KC sent three Scottish batsmen back to the pavilion, while Lalit Rajbanshi and Kushal Malla took a wicket apiece.
Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee had cracked half-centuries for Nepal as the hosts had defeated champions Scotland by three wickets to score their second win in a row on Friday.
Scotland have already clinched the World Cup League 2 title, scoring 50 points from 35 matches. Nepal are placed sixth in the points tally with 24 points from 27 matches.
