‘Xtream Energy Drink Presents National Music Awards’ happening on July 10
The event will recognise outstanding musicians, present a lifetime achievement honour, and bring together some of the country’s biggest performers.Post Report
On the occasion of its 28th anniversary, Radio Kantipur is hosting its eighth annual Xtream energy drinks NMA National Music Awards on Friday, July 10, at The Plaza Convention Centre, Pulchowk.
At the press meet, the event organisers reiterated their commitment to celebrating and facilitating the development of music in Nepal.
Kantipur Media Group’s corporate manager, Simran Shrestha, shared that the event would feature awards in 14 different categories and two additional awards—Lifetime Achievement and ‘Xtreme Energetic Performer of the Year’.
Shrestha also added that the event hopes to engage audiences of all ages and music tastes.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, which includes a Rs0.1 million cash prize, will be presented to a veteran who has devoted decades to the development of Nepal’s music sector.
The event also includes a People’s Choice Award. Viewers will be able to vote for their favourite musicians through the eSewa mobile app.
Songs released between April 14, 2025 (Nepali New Year's Day last year) and April of this year were eligible for nomination in the various categories at the awards.
The event features a star-studded lineup of John and The Locals, Deepak Bajracharya and Rhythm, Ujan Shakya, Samriddhi Rai, Shiva Pariyar, Yaman Shrestha, Mantra Band, Salina BK, Karma Singh Lama and Prabhat Lama.
The event will be live-streamed across all of Kantipur Media Group’s platforms.
