AWE Bootcamp concludes
Women entrepreneurs urged to formalise ventures, think long-term, and build resilient business models.
Post Report
The final day of the AWE Bootcamp 2025, organised by the US Embassy Nepal and Impact Initiative Nepal, concluded on Friday at The Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu. The camp focused on sustainable scaling, legal literacy, and authentic leadership.
The third day, designed to equip 30 emerging women entrepreneurs with the skills and mindset to build long-term, impactful ventures, began with the concluding segment of the ‘100 Million Learners’ course. It featured expert-led sessions on systems thinking, financial compliance, and real-world business growth challenges in Nepal.
Legal expert Nida Doon Malla led a session, walking participants through the world of tax obligations, company registration types, and financial regulations. Moving away from lectures, Malla invited participants to share their legal concerns. “Don’t let fear of paperwork keep you from formalising your dream,” she said, addressing questions ranging from VAT registration to employee contracts.
Later, entrepreneur Sovan Bir Malakar, founder of Trisara, shared his experience navigating success and setbacks in the hospitality sector. He highlighted the importance of researching markets before expanding, citing a failed outlet in Baneshwar. “Without a support network or customer insight, it’s hard for a business to stay stable,” he noted, adding that steady value creation is more important than immediate sales.
Reflecting on the program, Sophiya Rana, Founder of INN, said, “This initiative is our commitment to supporting Nepal’s journey toward becoming a middle-income country by 2030– powered by women, united in sisterhood, and driven by purpose.”
The boot camp concluded with a closing remark from Erica Alexander, Cultural Affairs Officer at the US Embassy, “You’re the entrepreneurs who’re going to be the ones building the bridges—not just in Nepal but across the world,” she said.
The three-day event was the starting point of a six-month learning journey of growth, leadership, and community-driven entrepreneurship.
