In collaboration with LSM Production and the Department of Languages and Mass Communication at Kathmandu University (KU) School of Arts, Global Media Makers by Film Independent, USA, is hosting a transformative film screenwriting workshop titled Know Pages, Know Screen.

According to the organisers, the six-day interactive workshop, running from December 3 to 8, is designed to empower budding screenwriters through mentorship from seasoned industry professionals. Participants will receive comprehensive feedback on their scripts from creative minds within the Nepali film fraternity, guiding them towards refining their work. The workshop also features additional sessions offering insights into the directorial perspective, navigating the short film production process, and transforming written pages into compelling screenplays.

Happening at the Department of Languages and Mass Communication, KU, Hattiban, Know Pages, Know Screen brings together a talented group of mentors and creative participants. The selection process was highly competitive, with over seventy scripts submitted by individual filmmakers. The final ten participants were chosen based on the strength of their stories amidst stiff competition. The selected participants for the 2023 workshop include Gopal Thapa, Bigyan Sapkota, Mira Khadka, Sandesh Siwakoti, Priya BK, Annie Pakhrin, Madhur Thapa, Sarita Sah, Bibidh Chalise and Deepali Shrestha.

The mentorship team comprises esteemed professionals, including Abinash Bikram Shah, Anup Poudel, Keshab Pandey, Khagendra Lamichhane, Sampada Malla, Sarad Mahato, Sandeep Shrestha and Sunil Pandey.
