Since 2014, Yogmandu Yoga and Retreat has been providing residential and non-residential yoga courses to local and international students. The centre is affiliated with Yoga Alliance, a nonprofit yoga association. The 200 hours of Yoga Teachers’ Training (YTT) takes place every month for 28 days for a fee of Rs 35,000 per person for Nepalis and USD 500 for foreigners. The training is done in Sanatan and Hatha style and is best suited for beginners and intermediate-level students.
As part of the course, students learn yoga techniques, anatomy and physiology of the body, yoga philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics. Yoga trainers Dr Chinta Mani Gautam, Arjun Rakhal Magar, Arjun Neupane, and Roshan Shrestha, along with dietician Dr Gita KC and anatomy-physiology lecturer Dr Deepika Hada, teach the course.
After completing the training, the students get the internationally accepted YTT Yoga Alliance US Certificate.
Apart from the 28-day course, the centre also offers 35-day and 54-day residential courses for fees of USD 1,800 and USD 2,800, respectively. Nepali students get 20 percent on the mentioned rates. Participants can register for the course of their choice through the centre’s website.
