The weather is expected to remain generally fair across much of Nepal during the Tihar festival, with only slight variations in certain regions, the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reported on Wednesday.
Meteorological officials predict that hilly areas in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces may experience partial to complete cloud cover, with chances of light rainfall and occasional thunderstorms in some areas. Clear skies are expected across most other regions during Tihar.
In the higher hills and Himalayan regions, light snowfall is possible in a few areas. Temperatures are likely to see a gradual decrease, both during the day and at night, across most parts of the country in the coming days.
The forecast covers October 31 to November 3.
The department also predicts that most parts of the country will see above-average rainfall and above-average maximum and minimum temperatures between October and December.
