Valley faces power outage after lightning strike at Khimti-Lamosanghu transmission line
According to Nepal Electricity Authority spokesperson Suresh Bahadur Bhattarai the incident caused damages to the transmission line and repair works are underway to restore the electricity supply.

Several parts of Kathmandu Valley on Monday faced power outages following a lightning strike at the Khimti-Lamosanghu transmission line.
According to Suresh Bahadur Bhattarai, spokesperson of Nepal Electricity Authority, the power supply was cut as the lightning damaged the transmission line.
“There has been a disturbance in power supply in most parts of Kathmandu Valley after a lightning strike at the Khimti-Lamosanghu transmission line,” Bhattarai said, talking to the Post. “Repair works are underway and it is not possible to say with certainty when the electricity supply will be restored.”
Khimti-Lamosanghu 132 kV transmission line is a national transmission line that is used to supply electricity generated at the Upper Tamakosi Hydropower Project to Kathmandu Valley and other places.
