Ncell extends scholarship programme for engineering students of Pulchowk Campus

Ncell Private Limited has reached an agreement with the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus, to give continuity to the “Ncell Scholarships and Excellence Awards” programme for the next five years, incorporating two more engineering streams-Civil and Mechanical-under this initiative.
As per the agreement signed on Monday by Kanishka Gayan Wickrama, chief finance officer of Ncell, and Ramchandra Sapkota, dean of IOE, Ncell will provide 18 scholarships and six excellence awards to the toppers of five engineering streams—Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Civil and Mechanical— from 2019 to 2023. Both scholarships and excellence awards carry amount worth Rs 100,000 each.
“Ncell in collaboration with IOE aims to foster and promote talents of various engineering faculties, support deserving students and encourage academic excellence. We are pleased to further strengthen our collaboration with the prestigious Pulchowk Campus. We aim to support and collaborate with a new generation of engineers of the 21st century,” Ncell CFO Wikrama said at the agreement signing ceremony.
Ncell instituted the scholarship and excellence awards at Pulchowk Campus in 2014 as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment.
A total of 60 students have received Ncell scholarships and 20 students have received Ncell excellence awards so far.
“Under the Ncell Scholarships and Excellence Awards, we supported best and deserving students promoting meritocracy.
We are thankful to Ncell for giving continuity to this programme for another five years,” IOE Dean Sapkota said.
The scholarships will be awarded to the toppers of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of each faculty. The female topper among all female students of the five faculties will also get a scholarship.
The excellence awards will be distributed to the toopers of each faculty and the female topper among all female students of the five engineering streams based on their cumulative scores of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year.
