Two new parking ways are under construction at the Tribhuvan international Airport in the Capital.
The parking-way are being built in the north-eastern and south-western parts of TIA which will provide space to manage 10 aircrafts. The construction of parking-way is expected to be completed within five months.
The airport which has been facing trouble in parking management is constructing ‘Remote Parking Way’ and ‘Parking Way’ at the cost of Rs 1.6 billion being managed from Airport Development Fund, said the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
According to TIA general-manager Rajkumar Chhetri, the parking-way being constructed to the north-east part of airport will complete by mid-March 2019 and the under-construction parking space to the south-west of the airport will complete by mid-May 2019.
With the addition of parking space, the traffic pressure surfaced in the airport is expected to be managed to some extent.
