KMC signs MoU with China Railway for monorail feasibility study

The MoU was signed by Kathmandu Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and China Railway Construction Corporation’s General Manager Li Hongqi.
Lalitpur Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan was also present on the occasion. Mayor Shakya declared that the monorail project would be completed within his tenure. “Once the feasibility study is completed, we will soon start developing the project,” he said.
Li Hongqi said the CRCC was honoured to be a part of the project to improve the public transport sector in Kathmandu Valley.
“It is now our responsibility to finish this task and submit our report on time,” he said. CRCC has six months to complete the monorail feasibility study and submit its report.
