As the gross medical negligence of Norvic International Hospital has come to fore, the Nepal Medical Council (NMC) has launched an investigation into the doctor involved in the treatment.
The NMC has directed Norvic Hospital administration to be present at its Bansbari office for clarification on Tuesday. “We will talk to the doctors concerned. Further investigations have been launched,” said Dr Dilip Sharma, NMC registrar.
Patient Bindu Poudel’s medical file with the hospital shows Dr Nepal operated on her right leg while the problem was with her left leg. After the incident, the hospital administration agreed to bear all costs incurring during the course of her treatment.
The NMC had also held a meeting of its ethical committee that deals with such incidents.
