Home Minister Janardan Sharma urged Foreign Ministry to take diplomatic initiatives with India to open the doors of Saptakoshi barrage.
A meeting of Home Ministry on Saturday concluded failure to open doors of the barrage on time would create further disaster in the area.
Home Ministry Spokesperson Dipak Kafle said the meeting decided to request the Foreign Ministry to take necessary measures to open the doors of the barrage.
Water flow in the river has reached dangerously high due to heavy rainfall since Friday.
