Kamal Thapa-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party has expelled 17 party leaders following a split in the party.
Party's Pashupati Shamsher Rana faction on Sunday split from RPP to announce Rastriya Prajatantra Party Prajatantrik. The expelled leaders have joined Rana's new party.
Six lawmakers—Dipak Bohora, Sunil Thapa, Resham Lama, Biraj Bista, Rajya Laxmi Shrestha and Babina Lawati— and 11 central committee members are among those expelled by the party following a central committee meeting.
Similarly, central committee members Prabin Chamling, Hari Bahadur Basnet, Ram Krishna Bhattarai, Padam Bahadur Basnet, Nawaraj Subedi, Bishnu Bikram Thapa, Giridhari Pariyar, Dipak Kumar Rai, Bindu Pahadi, Pradip Uday and Kiran Giri were also expelled.
