UCPN (Maoist) leader Nanda Kishor Pun has filed his nomination from the ruling coalition as the candidate for the post of Vice President on Friday.
Pun filed his nomination at the Legislature-Parliament secretariat Election Commissioner's office at 12:50 am today.
Pun's nomination was proposed by CPN-UML senior leader Jhalanath Khanal and seconded by Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal leader Dilnath Giri.
Earlier, a meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) standing committee decided to field leader Pun for the post of Vice President after various member leaders of High Level Political Coordination Committee demanded that a Madhesi or Tharu candidate be fielded for the post during the committee meeting on Thursday.
