Jajarkot

A fire at a house in ward 8 of Kushe Rural Municipality in Jajarkot killed a young boy on Sunday night.

The fire broke out at Janak Bahadur Rokaya’s home, killing his son, Amar Bahadur Rokaya. The fire started while cooking and quickly spread, police said.

Janak and his mother, Bijuli, sustained injuries in the incident. Other family members managed to escape, while locals rescued livestock from the lower floor.

The fire destroyed clothes, food grains, and some cash, said rural municipality chair Harichandra Basnet. A team from the Paik Police Post is reaching the incident site.
