Gopal Hamal, mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City in Kailali district, suffered from brain stroke.
The mayor, who was not feeling well for the past few days, was admitted to Mayametro Hospital on Friday.
Hamal was taken to Delhi, India, on Saturday as his health condition did not improve. “He suffered from a brain stroke. His health condition is stable. He was referred to Delhi as all modern technologies and facilities are not available here in Dhangadhi,” said Hari Paudel, a doctor involved in his treatment in Dhangadhi.
