An Indian national was arrested in possession of Rs2.5 million unaccounted cash from Bramhadev in ward 9 of Bhimdutta Municipality on Tuesday evening.
The border outpost of Armed Police Force (APF) in Bramhadev detained Abhishek Gupta of Tanakpur in Indian state of Uttarakhand with IRs1.27 million and NRs513,000.
“We detained Gupta with the amount as he could not provide a legal source of the seized money,” said APF Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Chand.
Gupta and the seized amount were handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office in Kohalpur, Banke.
