Karnali register second win, Kathmandu bounce back

Karnali Yashvis recorded their second victory in the Everest Women’s Volleyball League as they overcame Gandaki Thunders 3-2 at the NSC covered hall in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Karnali, who opened their league with a 25-15, 25-20, 26-28, 25-11 victory against Madhesh United on Monday, lost the first set 15-25 but fought back to claim the second and third set 25-22, 25-17. Gandaki levelled the game winning the fourth set 25-19 but Karnali prevailed in the fifth and deciding set 15-12 to maintain their winning streak.
The victory gave Karnali five points from two matches.
Gandaki remain winless after also losing their opening game to Chitwan Shakti 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 18-25. They have one point.
Kathmandu Spikers bounced back from their opening loss to Lalitpur Queens to beat Chitwan Shakti 21-25, 25-10, 25-22, 25-17 in the evening’s second clash to register their first victory in the league.
Kathmandu had lost to Lalitpur 20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19 in their opening match.
The top two teams at the end of the single round robin league will progress into the October 5 final.
