The men’s team of Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Tip Top Help Nepal both registered their third victories in a row in the Prime Minister Cup NVA National Club Volleyball Championships in Tripureshwar on Tuesday.

Police registered a straight-sets win over Dawali Milan Club with scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-17 at the National Sports Council’s covered hall. Police, who had chalked up a 3-2 sets win over Gandaki Province and a straight-sets win over Sailung Baghdhunga Sports Club, have eight points from three games.

Tip Top Help Nepal also secured straight-sets victory over Gandaki Province, with scores reading, 25-22, 25-17, 28-26. They have nine points following straight-sets victories over Sailung Baghdhunga and Dawali Milan Club.

Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) also secured their third victory, defeating Sailung Baaghdhunga with scores of 26-24, 25-15, and 28-26. APF have nine points from three games and Sailung Baghdhunga are yet to open their scoring after four games.

In the women’s section, APF registered a crushing victory over Everest Volleyball Club with a score of 25-9, 25-12, 25-11. They have eight points from three victories from as many games. They had earned two points from Army in their opening game, following a 3-2 sets win. Everest, who have lost all three games in straight sets, are yet to open their scoring in the team standings.

New Diamond pulled off a fifth set win over Army. After winning the first two sets 25-15, 25-21, New Diamond lost the next two 19-25, 22-25 as the game got prolonged into the fifth and final set. New Diamond proved their supremacy in the decisive set, securing a 15-9 win.

New Diamond have eight points from three games, while Army have earned two points from as many games, despite losing all of them.

The top two teams after the round robin league in both the men and women’s section will play in the final. The women’s event has six teams and the men’s seven.
