Nepal bags two golds in Asian Cross Country Championship
Nepal’s Rajpur Pachhai won silver in the women’s senior 10 km race. Japan’s Yuka Sarumida won gold and India’s Sonika the bronze.

Nepal won two gold, four silver and two bronze medals at the 16th Asian Cross Country Championship in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Dipak Adhikari won the gold medal in the senior men’s 10 km race beating Mukesh Bahadur Pal and Japan’s long-distance runner Daichi Kamino at the Gokarna Forest Resort.
Adhikari and Pal also teamed up with Dipak Suhan to win gold in the senior men’s team event. Iran secured silver and India bagged bronze medal.
Nepal’s Rajpur Pachhai won silver in the women’s senior 10 km race. Japan’s Yuka Sarumida won gold and India’s Sonika the bronze.
Nepal’s senior women’s team, consisting of Pachhai, Pushpa Bhandari and Brinda Dhanake Shrestha, clinched the silver medal in the team event. India won the team gold while Thailand took home the bronze medal.
Nepal also won bronze medals in the junior men’s and women’s race.
The event saw participation of a total of 66 athletes from 11 countries.
