Rai wins Dharan Open Golf Tournament
A total of 43 golfers, including 24 pros and 11 amateurs, took part in the 54-hole tournament organised by Nepal PGA and Dharan Golf Club under the sponsorship of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City.Sports Bureau
Local pro Sukra Bahadur Rai won the Dharan Open Golf Tournament, the second event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2020-21, at the par-70 Nirvana Country Club Health and Golf Resort in Dharan on Friday.
Rai fired one-under 69 for a total score of four-under 206 to register a comfortable seven-stroke victory as both Bhuwan Nagarkoti and Niraj Tamang fell behind on the final round. Rai bagged a purse of Rs90,000.
Krishna Man Rajbahak made a total of three-over 213 carding three-under 67 that tied him with Bhuwan Nagarkoti and Balbhadra Rai on second. Nagarkoti carded seven-over 77 and Rai scored one-over 71. Each pocketed Rs43,666.
Rame Magar and Niraj Tamang were joint fifth, both finishing at four-over 214. Magar scored two-over 72 and Tamang carded seven-over 77. They received Rs28,500 each.
Deepak Acharya ended at seventh place after carding one-over 71 for a total score of five-over 215. He earned Rs25,000. Rabi Khadka (71) and Sanjay Lama (75) were eighth with scores of six-over 216 each. They got Rs22,000 each. Dinesh Prajapati finished last scoring seven-over 217. He carded two-over 72 and took home Rs19,000.
Yubraj Bhujel won the amateur title with a total score of nine-over 219. He carded six-over 76. Ritesh Tamang finished behind Bhujel scoring 14-over 224 after carding six-over 76.

Deputy Mayor of Dharam Sub-metropolitan City Manju Bhandari Subedi, Dharan Golf Club President Tika Limbu and Vice-president Santosh Karki handed over the prizes to the winners.
