Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club crushed Mid-western Region by 10 wickets as the PM Cup Women’s National Twenty20 cricket tournament kicked off at the Fapla grounds on Wednesday.
Midwest’s decision to bat first backfired after Ritu Kanoujiya’s four-wicket haul bundled out Midwest for 36 runs in 18.4 overs. Openers Jyoti Pandey and Sita Rana Magar were enough for APF to overhaul the target as the departmental side reached 37 without loss in 4.5 overs. Pandey, the national team opener, made 27 and Rana Magar chipped in 11.
Earlier, woman-of-the-match Kanoujiya took four wickets as six of Midwest batswomen failed to open their account. Geeta Goasain top scored for Midwest with 15 points. Rekha Rawal, Sonu Khadka, Geeta Rana and Anjali Chand also took a wicket each for APF.
Earlier, Far-western Region eased to a five-wicket win over Western Region. Western were restricted to 73-9 and the hosts reached the target in 17.1 overs.
