Nepali national team midfielder Jagjeet Shrestha has recently signed a deal to play for Hume United Football Club of Australia.
Shrestha, who has already represented the Melbourne-based club in the State League Division 3 match, inked an 18-month deal for a monthly salary of Aus$ 1,500. The tie-up was possible thanks to a local Nepali club here—Yeti FC—who initiated for the player’s move to the club.
“It is a great honour to have an opportunity to play in Australia,” said Shrestha on Sunday. “I will try to use this opportunity to the maximum especially in the absence of national and international football in Nepal,” added the former Three Star Club mi dfielder, who has over 30 caps for Nepal.
