It was the junior Nepal No 1’s second defeat after a 21-13, 21-11 loss to Wei Cheam June of Malaysia on Sunday. Dhami also teamed up with his Thai partner Busanan Ongbamrungphan to lose the mixed doubles Group E match 21-8, 21-13 against Kanta Rsuneyama of Japan and Chia-Hsin Lee of Chinese Taipei on Tuesday. They had started with a 21-19, 19-21, 21-12 win over Krzysztof Jakowczuk of Poland and Clara Azurmendi Morena of Spain on Sunday before losing to Magda Konieczna of Poland and Yiu Lee Cheuk of Hong Kong 20-22, 21-18, 21-23.
Athlete Sangita Khadka is scheduled to compete in the women’s 3,000-metre race on Wednesday.
