One dead as inmates clash in juvenile reform centre in Banke

A juvenile inmate died after sustaining injuries in a clash between inmates at the Jayandu Child Reform Home in Asanmanpur of Duduwa Rural Municipality on Thursday night.
District Police Office, Banke Deputy Superintendent Narayan Dangi informed that 20-year-old Sulab KC of Rupandehi, who was injured in the clash, succumbed to injuries. KC was convicted of rape as a minor and was serving time at the correctional centre.
Juvenile centre chief Bimala Kaucha said that 11 inmates, who were part of the clash, have been taken into custody and are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, nine juvenile inmates have escaped the facility and are out of contact, which holds a total of 255 inmates.
