In Chitwan constituency number 3, Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Sowita Gautam has taken an early lead, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Renu Dahal, who resigned as mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City to contest, is trailing.
Gautam has secured 925 votes, compared with Dahal’s 679 votes.
Counting has started from wards 5, 6, and 9 of Madi Municipality. CPN-UML candidate Shankar Thapliya has received 202 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Tek Prasad Gurung has 129 votes.
A total of 2,087 votes have been counted so far.
