A fire that broke out at a warehouse of Mahashakti Soap Company in the Hetauda Industrial Area was brought under control after around 10 hours on Sunday morning.
The fire, which started at around 11:30pm on Saturday, was contained at about 9:30am, police said.
Soap products, plastic materials and chemicals stored in a shed made of corrugated sheets were destroyed. The warehouse belongs to Mahashakti Soap Company, one of the oldest industries in the Hetauda Industrial Area, located in ward 8 of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City.
Police suspect an electrical short circuit caused the fire.
Two fireengines from Hetauda, teams from Makwanpur police, personnel from Armed Police Force Battalion no 14 and residents worked through the night to douse the flames.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Makwanpur, said the presence of soap, wrappers, cartons and chemicals delayed efforts to control the fire.
