Locals block BP Highway after bus-hit kills pedestrian

An 82-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a passenger bus in Patlegaun, ward 2 of Namobuddha Municipality.
Police Inspector Bed Narayan Shrestha of the District Police Office, Kavre said the accident occurred around 9am on Sunday on the Dhulikhel–Bhakunde section of the BP Highway. The bus was travelling from Dhulikhel to Bhakunde when it struck Pot Bahadur Kutuwal, killing him on the spot.
Locals blocked the highway following the accident. Authorities said efforts are underway to reopen the road after discussions with the victim’s family and transport operators. The bus has been impounded, and its driver has been taken into custody.
