A 68-year-old man, Krishna Latoula, was injured while trying to put out a fire that broke out at a mill in ward 1 of Manahari Rural Municipality, Makwanpur.
The fire reportedly started due to an electrical short circuit at the mill adjacent to Latoula’s house. The blaze completely destroyed the house and damaged machinery, stored grains, processed wood, and other items, causing losses estimated at around Rs1.3 million.
The fire, which began around 2pm on Monday, was brought under control by 5:30pm with the help of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan fire services, police, and locals.
