Diyalo Bangala Darbar, which is situated at Anptari near Narayanghat Bazar in Chitwan, has been opened to the general public.
This historical palace where King Mahendra spent his last days and passed away has been developed as a museum following an agreement between the Nepal Trust and Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
King Mahendra, the father of King Birendra and the deposed King Gyanendra, died in 1972.
The palace is now open to the general public from Sunday. Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Hit Bahadur Tamang inaugurated the museum.
