Police have arrested a man on the charge of murdering his elder brother in Kispang Rural Municipality-5 of Nuwakot district on Wednesday.

The Nuwakot District Police Office took Singh Bahadur Tamang, 67, into custody for allegedly murdering his brother Kham Singh Tamang.

Police have accused Singh of murdering his brother on Monday evening with a khukuri over a longstanding land dispute. The man was nabbed based on a preliminary report from the incident, according to police.

Singh has previously been convicted of murder and served his sentence, indicating a history of repeated offences, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tilak Bharati.

Singh will be presented to Nuwakot District Court today to seek remand for further investigation, Bharati added.
