Tensions flare in Banepa after tipper kills scooter rider

A scooter rider was killed after a tipper truck hit his vehicle at Telecom Chowk in Banepa on Wednesday morning, triggering tension in the area.
Police said the tipper struck the scooter, killing an approximately 30-year-old man on the spot. His identity has yet to be ascertained.

The body has been kept at Scheer Memorial Adventist Hospital in Banepa.
Following the incident, angry locals set the tipper on fire and pelted stones at police. Security personnel fired several rounds of tear gas to bring the situation under control.
