A 45-year-old scooter rider from Buddha Pokhari in ward 1 of Panauti Municipality died, and a scooter pillion rider was injured in a scooter accident in Paralchaur of the same ward on Sunday afternoon.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, the scooter went out of control and fell 15-20 feet from the road, killing the rider on the spot.

The injured pillion rider is in a critical condition and is receiving treatment at the Banepa-based Scheer Memorial Hospital, said police.
