At least four people died and eight others were injured after a jeep fell off the road in Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli, on Tuesday afternoon.

Mayor Khadga Bahadur Khatri said the vehicle with 12 people including the driver on board was heading to Banskateri from Sindhulimadhi, the district headquarters when it fell around 60 feet off the road at Karamdanda.

According to police, the incident may have taken place due to the overloading of the vehicle. Manoj Kumar Lama, deputy superintendent at Sindhuli District Police Office, said, “Four of the deceased, all from Banskateri, died on the spot. Of the eight injured, four are in critical condition and have been rushed to Kathmandu.”

Mayor Khatri said the rest of the injured are receiving treatment at Sindhuli District Hospital.
