The officials at Galchhi-Mailung-Rasuwagadhi Road Project have filed a complaint at the Nuwakot District Administration Office after they were reportedly harassed by some locals.
The project officials say that some locals living near the project site are harassing them demanding compensation for acquiring their land to build the road.
They have also accused Prakash Adhikari, a resident of Bagtar in Bidur Municipality-9, of manhandling them.
“We are not here to upset anyone, we are here to build infrastructure from which the locals can benefit,” said Narayandutta Bhandari, chief of the project.
The project has acquired land in the Ratomate area.
According to Bhandari, the government has already provided compensation for the acquired land to 500 families.
Adhikari, however, has claimed that he purchased a land plot in the project site only recently and that there has not been any acquisition agreement between him and the project.
He has demanded that the project free his land.
Chief District Office Drona Pokharel has vowed to look into the case and take action against the guilty.
“No kind of abuse or obstruction will be tolerated against the road project,” Pokharel said.
