Woman killed in elephant attack

A 70-year-old woman, Paatali Tamang, was killed on Friday by a wild elephant in Phatuwa Bijayapur Municipality, Rautahat district. The attack occurred while she was sleeping at her home in ward 11.
Her husband managed to escape during the incident, which also resulted in significant damage to their home.
Teams from the Area Police Office, the Division Forest Office in Chandranigahapur, and the Armed Police Base Camp in Bijaypur have arrived at the scene, and investigations are ongoing, according to the District Police Office, Rautahat.
