Madhav Kumar Nepal elected from Rautahat-1
Nepal secured victory over UML’s Ajay Kumar Gupta by a margin of 6,600 votes.

Former prime minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has been elected to the House of Representatives from Rautahat-1. He received 33,522 votes.
Nepal secured victory over his nearest competitor, Ajay Kumar Gupta of the CPN-UML, by a margin of 6,600 votes. Gupta garnered 26,922 votes while Janamat Party candidate Rajendra Prasad Shah got 1,206 votes.
Nepal had previously been elected from Kathmandu-2.
