135 dogs sterilised, 195 vaccinated in Panchthar
Locals were informed in advance to bring their dogs to the camp organised for rabies control.

The Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Centre of Panchthar organised a two-day vaccination and sterilisation drive on Thursday and Friday last week to control the spread of rabies in the district.
According to Niroj Kumar Bhattarai, an official at the Centre, 52 community dogs and 83 domestic dogs were sterilised in the camp. Likewise, 195 dogs were vaccinated against rabies. Nepal Agro Livestock Training and Research Centre of Itahari provided technical support in the program conducted to control rabies disease, he reported.
Four doctors and 15 technicians, along with many volunteers, were mobilised in the drive. The centre annually conducts dog sterilisation and vaccine campaigns to control rabies.
