Bishwaraj Pokharel of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been elected from Okhaldhunga in the House of Representatives elections. Pokharel is a former Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police.
Pokharel secured 13,953 votes, narrowly defeating Nepali Congress candidate Kumar Luitel, who received 13,948 votes. The margin of victory was just five votes.
Ambir Babu Gurung of the NCP came third with 11,296 votes, while Asmita Thapa of CPN-UML secured 10,720 votes.
Uddhav Kumar Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party received 3,858 votes. Kishori Karki of Ujyalo Nepal Party got 965 votes, Bajendra Rai of the Mongol National Organisation got 223 votes, and Dik Prasad Bastola of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 178 votes.
