Floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have blocked transportation along Tamor Corridor and Mechi Highway.
The Tamor Corridor has been blocked due to an increase in water level in Chharuwa river in Chaubise Rural Municipality and Raguwa river in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality of Dhankuta along with Nawa river bordering Dhankuta and Panchthar.
Bridges are yet to be built on all three rivers in the under-construction Tamor Corridor.
Police Inspector Diwas Kunwar at Panchthar District Police Office said the traffic has been obstructed since Tuesday morning.
Similarly, the Phidim-Taplejung road section of the Mechi Highway has been blocked again due to the rise in the water level in Hewa river. The traffic had resumed on Monday after a diversion was constructed over the river.
A flood had swept away the bridge over the river on June 18.
The district witnessed heavy rainfall last night.
