Two people were killed after a landslide buried a powerhouse of Nagdewa micro hydropower project in Tellok at Sirijangha Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 in Taplejung district on Sunday night.
The landslide was triggered by continuous rainfall all night long.
“Two men died in the incident,” said Tika Gurung, the chair of the rural municipality. “One of the deceased was the operator of the powerhouse.”
Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Shrestha said seven personnel from the Area Police Office in Tellok were sent to the incident site.
