CPN (Samyukta) unveils manifesto prioritising entrepreneurship, governance and social justice
Party pledges economic self-reliance, quality education, health services and protection of migrant workers’ rights.Post Report
The Communist Party of Nepal (Samyukta) has launched its election manifesto targeting the House of Representatives elections. The manifesto prioritises entrepreneurship, agriculture, tourism, education, health, foreign employment, and foreign policy.
The party criticised both established parties for incompetence and new parties for lacking principles, describing a political vacuum in need of a “new revolutionary force” to break national political disillusionment.
Led by Ghanashyam Bhusal, the party has fielded 35 candidates for the first-past-the-post and 109 for the proportional representation system. The manifesto emphasises building an entrepreneurial nation, ending economic dependency, and ensuring citizens can exercise constitutional rights.
The party calls for revising economic policies to support industry-friendly growth and industries based on Nepali raw materials, including food, timber, herbs, and minerals. It also proposes technological solutions like drones and robots for agriculture, disaster management, and wildlife protection.
In education, the party aims to eliminate disparities between public and private schools within ten years. The party pledges a health system capable of treating pandemics and other emergencies, attracting three million tourists, creating one million direct jobs, and developing IT and start-ups.
The manifesto also addresses social justice, promising legal and administrative measures against caste, gender, and other forms of discrimination, and calls for public awareness campaigns through schools, media, and political organisations.
On foreign policy, the party vows diplomatic efforts to reclaim land up to Lipulekh and ensure national interests are protected, while improving bilateral and multilateral relations.
The party also promises to end the mistreatment of Nepali migrant workers abroad and implement the rights of non-resident Nepalis. The party plans to strengthen diplomatic efforts with the UK to secure pension rights for former Gorkha soldiers.
