The Rastriya Swatantra Party has elected party president Rabi Lamichhane as its parliamentary party leader.
The RSP’s parliamentary party meeting held in Kathmandu on Monday decided to elect Lamichhane as its parliamentary leader.
Party chief whip Santosh Pariyar informed that Lamichhane was unanimously elected as the leader of the parliamentary party. Similarly, the meeting also decided to promote Nisha Dangi as whip of the party.
“The meeting elected party president Lamichhane as the leader of the parliamentary party. We have also formed some committees to facilitate parliamentary works,” said Pariyar. “The meeting has also elected Nisha Dangi to the position of a whip and reviewed the party’s performance in the recently held by-elections.”
A central committee meeting of the party on January 27 had picked party vice chair Dol Prasad Aryal as the parliamentary party leader after the Supreme Court annulled the lawmaker status of Rabi Lamichhane in the last week of January.
Aryal on Saturday resigned as parliamentary party leader, a day after the party’s chief Lamichhane took an oath of office and secrecy after he was re-elected to the House.
