China sends third batch of emergency relief supplies to Nepal

The third batch of emergency relief supplies from China arrived in Nepal on Thursday, delivered by a Y-20A large transport aircraft of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu said.
The supplies arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in the afternoon as Nepal continues its disaster response.
Ten Chinese forensic experts, described as the fourth batch of Chinese experts sent to Nepal, also arrived on the same flight to assist with the identification of victims.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming and Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun attended a handover ceremony for the relief supplies and welcomed the Chinese experts.
The latest consignment includes urgently needed items such as mortuary freezers, epidemic prevention materials and daily necessities.
The Chinese forensic experts will begin work to support Nepal’s efforts to identify victims, the embassy said.
The third batch also includes Bailey bridges, which the Nepali side has identified as critically needed for disaster relief and restoring access in affected areas.
The specialised equipment required to erect the first batch of Bailey bridges has already arrived by land at the Lizi–Nechung border port for handover, according to the embassy.
